Flooding veins and superimposed
Upon membranes, the exit looms.
Behind, nothing. Ahead, a beacon.
Will you cherish this pain and embrace it?
Compose yourself, let the light consume you.

Looking back, look at this life
See how lovely it is?
See how it can suck you in and grind you
Into dust, and thrash you into nothing.
And see how you?re still smiling?

Two weeks will not contain
What we have to lose, and to prove.
We could have happened, lament!
I could have made this work.
And called you my own.
I left you clues planted in cement,
But someone hosed them down before
Anything was set in stone.

A finale draws to its close,
overstaying its welcome.
Some applaud, others cheer
And minutes drift like candles across the night sky.
Masking turmoil in soft repose
I want to fly, I want to die.

See how lovely it is?
There is no place else to go
The theater is closed
