Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of harmony In Flames are using in the intro riff to Embody the Invisible off the Colony album. I think Jesper (sorry not sure who does it) plays the riff while Bjorn plays the rhythm chords, then they both play the riff, harmonised. Are they using thirds? I would have thought so but I just wanted to check.

alright uhh its like, play the major scale they use, and go up 3 notes, its not like every note has a minor third or something, its actually based on theory, each degree of a major scale has a certian quality, major, minor, or diminished, so if you play an interval thats a 3rd up from where you are in the scale, it'll be a 3rd for some notes, and a minor 3rd for others

make any sense?

they kinda jazz it up on second guitar, but starting out the 8 on b and 7 on e is a major third, 7 on b and 5 on e is a minor third, etc

degree qualities of a major scale:
1st major
2nd minor
3rd minor
4th major
5th major
6th minor
7th diminished
