Has anybody ever used a pearly gates in the neck with a distortion in the bridge?
Does this sound like an odd combination?

Edit:

Going into an Alder bodied guitar. (Jackson DXMGT)
My amp is a Peavey Transtube Envoy 110. It's SS that acts like tubes sort of.
I play metal.
Neck for cleans/solos.
Cleans aren't as important as a good solo tone.

I live in the U.S.
Budget: $200ish, I don't want to import them. I'd like to stick with either DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan if anybody can make a suggestion?
Don't Suggest EMG's.

I've never used it, but I'm not sure how the Pearly Gates and Distortion would work. I'm pretty sure they have pretty different outputs, so one might overpower the other.

But I'm not an expert on pickups.

Hey guys! I just started playing electric guitar should I get a Gabson Lay Pall or a Femdor Startokaster. I like the picks on the gabsons but i like how sweet femdors look. Beforre i get a gabson what company makes them?

Yea, I am kinda worried that the pearly gates isn't powerful enough of a match with the distortion. I really liked the tone of it though.

Input please??

I use a SH59 on my bridge and a Pearly Gate on my Neck...... sounds well, can go from well................... SRV to........... Metallica......orr........ yep, it can't get gainier than that with MY CRAPPY AMP !!
Tone is all ...... well probably 75%, in your fingers.
The rest depends on your wallet's thickness !!

Keep the faith, baby!!

From my experiences, the Distortion is a very trebly pickup....it might sounds too trebly in an adler body......

That's my input....you might want to reconsider the distortion.

Couldn't that be modified using the EQ?

And to the Full Shred suggestion, didn't like the tone really. I liked the JB and the Distortion ALOT more.

How about a Dimarzio Paf Pro or a Air Norton for the neck?

Damn you! Now you've got me drooling over DiMarzio's.
