Most high end Ibanez and Jackson guitars are great for Hard Rock/Metal.

1. Find the highest model Ibanez SZ you can.
2. Buy.
3.

In my experience, most punk bands dont use Ibanez, I hate the necks on them personally, they are way too damn thin for my taste. I would get a Gibson SG standard if I were you that would be perfect for you.

^^Brad Nowell's main choice for guitars was Ibanez, as was the guy's from The Offspring. The SG is nice, but the Ibanez is so much more unique.

Pretty cool choice. Sort of a Flogging Molly / Tim Armstrong approach. That's respectable. I can dig it.

You know what. Both those guitars are good. When I was buying my RG series, I kept debating whether to get the SZ or RG. So I just made a descision to get the rgt42dx and say the hell with it. No point in arguing with myself over rwhat guitar to get, considering that was cutting into my playing time

I like the look of the SZ. Maybe go with that.

Because you play punk stuff, don't be a fool and go for "punk players don't play these guitars or whatever" Don't follow the dumb image. PLay what you like and what sounds GOOD!

Either the SZ or RG's are great...though I don't really like the wizard necks. SZ's get my vote!

I have both of those guitars, and they're both very good. I say go to a music store and pick the one you like best. The SZ is very LP like though, and the RG is a super strat, they're very different guitars. The SZ still gets my vote though. Why? Because the SZ neck, while less shreddable, is a lot more comfortable, espescially for rythym.
