the only way i can imagine breaking my low e is if i was trying to play korn...that is, realizing that the guitar is tuned to drop A, but mistakingly trying to tune it UP to A...even then i still think it would have a bit of life left in it...you must have been using a pair of scissors as a pic...poor fella

it took you 15 consecutive hours of practice to realize that playing guitar makes you better at playing guitar. congratulations.

That is quite a feat. Kudos to you for heavy playing and/or lack of tuning skill.
Looking to buy a Fender Jagstang, u sellin?
#30
^ Yeah! How dare he have a different taste in music then you. The world would be a much better place if everyone liked the same music, same movies, same clothes, same haistyle etc... Tool!

Anyways, I've actually never broken a string in the 7-8 years I've been playing, I've only broke a high E once when I was re-stringing.
Hai UG!
#31
I used to break the low E sting often, but it was caused by attempting to play an electric like an acoustic. And of course, I was play 30+ hours a week, beating away at the strings.
...... and You're thinking all my thoughts are so simple .... but so beautiful.
#32
The low E is the one I snap the most on every guitar I have (Or low B...)
It's a .52 on my 6 strings, for my 7 strings it's a .65 or a .56, depends on what tunings I'm into at the time
#33
I break my low E all the time, just because I use it the most. Of course, i've only ever broken strings twice, but both times it was the low E.

Ive broken my low E while strumming Wonderwall. I think I was strumming too hard. It was .10 but now I switch to .11 to .50 and keep my standard tuning D-Standard
#35
I don't think I've broken a string in like 3 years. And before that, a tip for all of you, never plug your guitar in and touch a 9 volt battery to it.

Fender Standard Strat

I was playing master of puppets at about 115% of the original speed.
I was on the part just after the second solo.
it just snapped!
I guess it was a lot of aggression from my tests that caused that...
