hey yall. i just put up my first recorded video of me playing guitar. its the Nathional Anthem, nothing special and its probally been done plenty of time. i just got bored at 3 in the morning and decided to do it. i know theres one part where i mess up and hit more then one string but i think the rest sounds fine. let me know what yall think of my playing and tone.

Whoa. You look like me. That's freaky.

Anyways, not bad. Not mind-blowing either, but it was good. I like your reverb.
Oh crap!

Pretty good...

I guess that's all.

the reverb is built in to my amp, a Crate GT212. i just use my normal rectifier-toned distortion and turn the reverb all the way up to 10. gives me great tone

you trying doing it like zakk wylde does. throw some improv and cool techniques in there.

It was okay, but you lose points for the Linkin Park poster.

it was fortunate that your tone make the down picks sound like a snare, as if someone was drumming in the back. i thought that was the best part, it was decent, but nothing special.

What tab did you use for this song, and if you didn't use a tab, could you tab this out?

Btw, that was really good, I would suggest adding some more lagato(sp) into it. on some of those notes, But on the whole it was very good.

Gear
Gibson Explorer
Epi Les Paul Standard

Amp

Sounded fine good tone. The worst thing about it were definately the linkin park posters. And I also don't know why you would bother posting this on the internet, just more youtube clutter I guess.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I've liked several of their songs.

well I do love your tone, and i think playing is more about not worrying about missing a note here and there, or hitting extra notes, I think it is more about the feel you put behind it, emotion. like where you said you hit an extra string, i would have gone with that and done a mad vibrato on the string you meant to hit while the other string just resounds. yes your playing was good, but it seemed to stiff, the improv parts were nice i wish there were more. and i think you should add some bends and way more vibrato, i think that would give this more of a flavor. playing wise i think it was good, but feeling wise, its not quite there.
anybody wanna put anything here just let me know

yeah now that i look back at it i was looking rather stiff. i plan on redoing it now that i have my wah pedal, 535Q . i plan on spicing it up a bit, adding more improv, and just really putting more feeling into it.
