k i got these strings, somebody bought them for me, and i got a strat and the strings are gibson flat wound... will they fit?

nope, they not great!! as i said i didn't buy them... but i desperately needed new strings...

They should. Depending on the gauge. The strings may be too thick for the grooves in the nut. Flatwounds are usually pretty heavy.
And they're quite jazzy/bluesy strings.

yeah they good for jazz but they horrible to play with and not the best for my style, i'm just gonna have to get used to them...

if the gauge is too thick it might raise the bridge a bit. if that happens then repost.

Or get $5 and buy a new set. There's no point in wearing larger slots in your nut and having to re-adjust the intonation and action on your guitar for strings you don't want.

yip i think it may have done that, the other thing is i don't live in America so strings would cost the equivalent of bout $16... we get ripped off... unless i buy cheapies...

^^ If your talking about elixirs, thats how much they cost here. Just get a set of 9s or 10s of ernie balls for 6 bucks.

um yeah no the i was referring to the gibson strings when i said they cost bout $16, elixrs cost bout $24... yip, ernie ball's are quite a bit cheaper but the closest music store doesn't stock erinie balls... or elixrs...
