Well, it's been a while for me here in MT and I looked through a couple of pages back and couldn't see one of these kinds of threads, so I decided I would post one. It's probably been about a year here for me so if this is uncouth, please just lock it and tell me.

What do you do?
You post a lick, or a chord, or a scale and ask what it is. Or, you can ask for a musical blurb.. ie. A chord progression, and what's the next chord. Whoever answers the question right gets to post the next question, or can defer it to someone else. After about 24 hours, someone else can take it up and post a new question.

NO CRAZY EXTENSIONS

Firstly, because they have no real practical use. Secondly, it's just long and annoying. If you want to know what a crazy extension constitutes, here: CmMaj13#4b5(no 7). I'm sure some people can think of better examples, but there's a basic one for you.

If you get it right, and the question-asker doesn't give you the affirmation, but another user with credible status says it's okay (maybe a couple users) then, you're free to go.

Use the CODE tags
It just makes things easier to read and organized.

Meh!: The missing chord is E7. The chord you've written out is E9.

La Qotsa: G7(no 3d)

yes, E9 was the chord and E7 is the Dominant (5th) in A (the chord sequence is VII-II-V-I)

you go now.

With A as lowest note, Amin7 would be the most logical choice. C6 isn't wrong though. First one to post is next

Fm6????

the notes are , F, C, D, and Ab

F min scale F-G-Ab-Bb-C-Db-Eb

with a min6th chord you add a maj6th to a min chord:
leaving F(Root note)-C(5th)-Ab(min3rd) and D(maj6th) i think so

correct me if im wrong pls>

Relatively easy... I need one name that could be used to describe each of these chords (I am asking for ONE name, not four).

X 0 X X
8 1 X 15
9 3 2 15
8 4 2 14
9 X 1 X
X X 2 14
