how many tube watts would there need to be to be heard over a solid state 120w crate?

and if my me-50 processor has like a tube screamer sim thing would it not drown out the tone of the tube.. along with the other overdrives, because it is suppposed to be an effects pedal sim or something and not a amp sim?

It depends completely on what volume the Crate's on.

If you mean full volume, probably a 50watt valve amp, although a 40watt would probably pull it off.

It might, all a od does is add a little bit of gain and push the signal harder.

As for as watts, you will never want to crank a SS very high, so 40 should be good.

thanks .. what about a valvetronix vox amp cant u push the volume more on those than just a regular ss amp?
