I'm pretty sure those are pretty new, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure gibson only recently started using EMG's.

A Les Paul Studio.

But why's it gotta be a Gibson? You seem like more the ESP/LTD or Schecter type to me.

Well, I'll tell you right now, if you're afraid of getting a post-99 one, don't buy from musiciansfriend.

Only buy guitars that have had their wood harvested from the north side of the tree, during the summer solstice, by virgin druids suffering from dwarfism. Next stupid question, please.

Not all post '99 Gibsons are terrible!! My '04 Firebird is awesome. Anyway, For those bands you listed you should be looking Schecter or ESP. And if your talking Les Paul, I say don't go below a Studio if it's pre '99, or a Standard if it's post '99. SG's I'm not as up on, but I know that most of them are not very good now a days.
Current Rig:
Gibson Firebird Studio
Limited Edition Schecter 35th Anniversary C-1
Schecter Jeff Loomis Signature 7 FR
Ashdown Fallen Angel
Custom 7 Firebird from Ignition Custom Guitars (check them out)
ESP Phoenix
