alright so today i got my banjo!!! it's a tyler mountain, and sounds pretty nice.

so that got me thinking, what are classic rock songs with banjo or that would translate well with banjo in it?

i can think of:
old man- neil young
gallows pole- led zeppelin

hmm what else?

A bunch of Eagles songs feature the banjo, I'll look and post the names a bit later.

EDIT: Take It Easy by The Eagles has some nasty banjo in it, I love that instrument. I'm actually thinking of taking up the six-stringed version.

If I remember, doesn't Old Man by Neil Young have a banjo in it?

I can't really think of a classic rock song with some banjo in it. But for non-classic rock, Breakdown by Guns N' Rose has some in it.

I can't think of any classic rock songs with banjo that haven't been mentioned already (yes, in just 8 posts).

It mostly depends on who you're talking to.

^Yeah, talk to most people in this forum about GNR and they'll tell you to go shove a shovel up your hole to dig the sh*t out of it that you call a brain. Ask just about anyone else and they'll tell you they're classic rock.

theres a good duelling banjos power tab on the web and look into Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, it will give you a whole new perspective on the banjo.
