yea, you will really need to tell us a lot more info,

EX: Body Wood

Neck Wood

your electronics (pots switch)

Knobs

Pretty much everything that you will need...

Are you going to buy premade parts and just assemble them or are you gonna get the body blank and cut it out yourself, theres a lot of info that you are missing for anyone to give you a price range
#3
yea i dont know alot about the parts needed , but yea im gonna order them premade or w/e, and then maybe paint a design on it. but yea i , dont know what woods im gonna use .

It's better with no teeth, trust me. Much fewer scars on my penis now that I've switched from seniors in high school to senior citizens.

yeah that looks sweet, but from my experience even making a crappy guitar from scratch costs a lot. would you try carving the body yourself?
haha i love everything, yeah. all you guys are cool

i should stop making guitars...because they tend to suck

yea im deffinately up to cutting it myself, theres just a few probs..

1)i dont have the tools needed, although i could find a way maybe
2)i would need plans and all the parts needed
3)i would need a video showing me how to do it
4)and would it be WAYYYY cheaper to cut it myself?
5)how much would it cost for everything, estimate
#16
im thinkin of ordering everything from warmoth, but its sooo expensive. could i take of my tremelo from my strat and put it on the V?

yeh you could but if you are looking to use it like alexi used a floyd then no

as for price about £500-700 is a decent estimate

all you have to do is get some rough prices such as:

OFR = approx £150
Neck = approx £150
Pups = approx £100
Body Wood = i have no idea how much wood costs
Paint, Hardware, etc = £50-100

yea it will be way cheaper to cut the body yourself try about $140 USD Cheaper....warmoth costs $200 USD for the body in mahogony....you buy the mahogony and cut it yourself, 60 bux for the blank.....
#20
oooh sweet, only one problem, how many tools does it take?
#24
maybe if u got friends who got woodshops or a nice tools set up in their garage, or where they work maybe they'll lend u a hand....

#31
I can get in touch with a luthier i know who may be able to build it for you, depends on if he is done with the project he has been doing or not, im sure he will just cut you the body if you buy the wood and pay him 50 ill ask him later tonight.
#32
alright thnx, dont get it set up yet tho, i gotta get some $$$
#33
btw i heard ppl talking about waxing pickups, what does that do?
#34
Potting pickups. Pickups are copper coils with magnets in the center. If you put wax on em (A process commonly known as Potting), it kinda muffles teh sound, and makes the coil more durable.

But a non potted pickup makes a brighter, more detailed sound. But the coil gets very vulnurable to handling, moving, and other stuff...
