I have heard its not good to play EMG's through a solid state amp. I want a Roland Cube 60 and the guitar i might get is an old Warlock with EMG Selects. So considering that, i have 2 options...

i could use the Roland and forget the EMG guitar

i could get the guitar with EMG's and a high gain tube amp like a Randall or something

suggestions?

You can use EMG's thorugh a solid state, it just won't sound as good as if they were played though a good tube amp. I think the Cube 60 and that guitar would sound semi-decent, but that's not the amps fault, I've never found any BC Rich's that had decent wood or playability. If you like it, go for it.

bc rich actually makes some damn fine instruments. Just stay away from 98-2005.

also to the poster what type of warlock is it?

The Warlock is an old NJ. Since it has EMG Selects i think its from the late 80's-early 90's.

Who ever told u that is wrong. I play emgs 81/85 through a solid state and it sounds great. Might sound better through a tube, but still sounds sick ina solid.

Uhh, if u have the cash, go for the tube amp lol.

I mean, cubes are alright i guess, but they are nothing compared to a quality rack system or tube amp....

If you have the $, spend it baby.
