Hi all,

Know i knoe that on practice amps , like 8W pices of crap" if you turn it upto the max and play like hell, the speaker will go f*cked and you'l get a buzzing noise or it will blow up.

But im planning on getting a good Fender Amp, for about £200 (English pounds)
What will happen if i turn it up to the MAX?
#2
A solid state? It would start producing harsh square waves that would sound shrill and nasty. A proper speaker shouldn't blow, even if you crank your amp. A tube amp dimed, on the other hand, would sound awesome

ive wondered that too, would i have to worry about blowing a speaker in a vox ad30vt with the volume all the way up?

I dont know, it doesnt really matter, the question is will a high quality amp get damaged if i turn it up too lound, lets say a £200 Fender 60W
#6
A £200 fender isn't high quality but it definitely won't blow up. If the speaker would blow when turned up all the way then the manufacturers wouldn't legally be allowed to sell that product.

yea thats like a fender frontman or something

How the hell can you get a 60W anything for only 200?

But with any amp, no matter how nice, if you really crank it for a long time you can kill it, that's what happened to my frontman, and it was the best thing to happen to me.

its $400USD. and u can get a cube 60. ^

if u have a low end amp, the speaker often struggles at any volume over 4-5.
solid state amps sound best at lower volumes.

when u have a tube amp, like a 15W fender blues jr, it will sound best when cranked.

tube watts can be equal to, 2x times solid state watts, and they stock tube amps with speakers that are able to handel that.

yeah, cubes are really good.
solid sate, good usable high gain effect, the tone isnt too digital, they are portable and last forever. the 60 even has a speaker out.

^ yeh, he means $$$ not £££

Also, save up, a 60watt fender isn't going to be good or high quality. Save for a nice tube combo, say Peavey Valveking 112

if your amp ever does blow up, make sure you post some pictures here, and best if you have a video of it blowing up.

^^ And add a little petrol (as the brits would say) to help the explosion along...
