What kind of music do you play?
What kind of amp do you have?
What kind of sound in general are you looking for?
What are you willing to pay?

We can't really help you when you don't give us any information whatsoever.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

Then you want solid state. Something with crappy tone.

Pretty much that music is ****. But that is besides the point.

I have played the Rocktron and didn't like it. It just didn't sound right to me. I have heard great things about the V-twin. I think it is an actual Preamp though and not just a distortion pedal.

Pretty much buy a Marshall Mode Four... crank the gain... crank the volume and play in Drop A.
