Anyone into positive hardcore? My favorite band in this category is Good Clean Fun. It's a good contrast to "tough guy" hardcore, yet still pays homage to hardcore pioneers like Gorilla Biscuits.

Also, honorable mention to newcomers Set Your Goals. Their quite a bit more pop-punk, but they wear their influences on their sleeve and they definitely give off a posi vibe.

IlIk2plygUItAr: Say hello to your brand new warning!

Posi hardcore is awesome, Champion, Bane, GB, Good Clean Fun etc. Good bands, great message and a lot of fun to be had at their shows.

Set Your Goals is awesome.
If you could put xLooking Forwardx in there I'd say them too.

I've never had a chance to hear these guys, but i've heard very good things.

Also, "broxcore" is one of the most retarded fabricated terms i've ever heard.

i ****ing love Good Clean Fun but I haven't really heard the rest of the bands that have mentioned. I really need to listen to more true hardcore....

I think its good for bands to have a positive message but I think too many bands are using it to preach straight edge in order to appeal to a certain audience.

I don't really like what it's BECOME. Which up here, is Youth Crew kids picking fights with kids who aren't straight edge/vegan/what have you.

EDIT: To the guy above me, "happy hardcore" is a subgenre of techno/trance. Club music basically.

I dislike how every vegan edge dude, decides to only use references from peta and bbp as education. It?s farked. im vegetarian, but i don't suck in everything peta says, cause basically the only good thing peta does, is do great interviews with great performers who are vegan and vegetarian. and every positive band these days has teh same lyrics "i thought you were a friend, but you turned your back, i know my who my real family is"....

Some lyrics from one of my favorite posi songs...

"Let's hear it for the boy who'll say
'Get this macho tough guy **** away'
The scene is just like a small town
And we don't want your kind around"

However, I can't say I know what you're talking about cause I haven't had very many conversations with vegans.

To shai_savant: You can hardly call it a scene.

posi hardcore was coined in the 80's, to show contrast to most hardcore (negative, pissed off) of the day. its one of the most accurate genre names in all of music.

know whats up before you spout off next time kid

Posicore is rad. H20 is one of the best, but their latest album, "GO!" isn't their strongest. Top 3 posi bands=
Good Clean Fun
H20
Carry on

Don't hold me to that though.

you missed the point

to say its a stupid genre name is off because its the most accurate one there is. the history was more for kids who have absolutely no idea what posi is.

Just because it's an accurate name doesn't mean that it doesn't sound stupid. And I can't speak for Andrew, but I think that most people knew that posi was short for positive. Nothing against the music, it's just kind of a dumb name.

F*ck you right back (wow, I feel like the Frankee to your Eamon)

It may be an accurate genre name, but then so is emo, but it doesn't make it a good name for a genre.

Really starting to get fed up with idiots on this forum jumping to conclusions and trying to start arguements over nothing.

May Andrew end Clayman's silly debate. (Christ - it's a genre name...)

I love this kinda music because it tries to bring in a sense of energy rather than aggressiveness. The sorta thing that got me into heavier music in the first place and why I got bored of rap when I was younger really really quickly.

And - the messages have never ever appealed to me. I've seen so many bad ones - I really don't care whether they're any good anymore :P:

Good Clean Fun are obviously the kings of this genre. They are fun to listen to every once in a while, but they are basically saying the same things over and over. I do like how they add the humor element into their music. I have yet to hear the new album, though.

The new album is good...well it's good, clean and fun *bu dum ch* "Thank you, thank you I'll be here all week". No really though it's a solid album, not quite as good as the old stuff, but some of the songs are pretty sweet. I say pick it up if you get a chance.
