Well I'm getting a new guitar soon but I'm not really planning to spend a bomb on it because I'm not that good, though I would like a fairly good one. I've decided to get the Agile AL-800, because it's the best budget les paul style guitar I can find ($300), even paying $75 to ship it from the USA it costs less than anything I can get in the UK. My fairly pointless questions are :

1) Do you think this is an ok guitar for someone who's been playing for about a year and is only in a band with friends that messes about?

2) Do you like the Blue or the Cherry Sunburst (purely opinion here )

Just so you know I'm currently playing a squier strat on a puny little 15W amp. I'll be getting either a Vox AC30 or a Spider II 30 with the new guitar.

Are you actually thinking of get an AC30? If you are, get it, if it's just a Valvetronix, get it.

But if you're getting a Vox, why get a guitar with high output pickups?

the actual guitar will probably look quite a bit different to those pictures

^The high output pickups won't sound brilliant with the AC30 tho....ok they will, but not as brilliant as low output pickups would sound to get that classic tone with an AC30.
