preference.
depending on the color of the guitar i would go for one or the other. really dark guitars and really light guitars usually look good with rosewood. somewhere in between usually looks better with maple.

wait so it doesnt affect the playing at all?

I really think that Rosewood looks better with the majority of guitars, but maple looks great on natural and white guitars.

some people say that maple feels more familiar or something like that...
My guitar has rosewood, but I personally prefer Ebony

it affects sound, I prefer maple, but it's personal taste.

and you forgot ebony, which I hate.
#8
it affects your tone minutely, but other than that, it doesnt make much of a difference.
You know the bitter comes out better on a stolen guitar

is maple easier to play?

it's smoother and doesn't have the sticky feel that rosewood has.

then its stickier than rosewood

I personally prefer rosewood. I haven't played enough guitars with ebony fingerboards to really judge it. The maple fingerboards I've tried have almost all been sticky, which I CAN'T STAND.

As for your guitar choice, I'd go for an Epi Les Paul Standard Plain Top or a Fender Standard Telecaster. I know the tele isn't on your list, but I love thsoe things.

here's what affects your tone:
1) your amp (including the tubes in your amp)
2) your pickups
3) your major body type (being acoustic, semi-hollow, or solid)

everything else couldn't really matter less than it actually does.
i know a lot of guys will probably correct me and tell me that the color of your pick will make a world of difference, but in the world of rock music, simply put, it doesn't.

I prefer maple. Maple feels a lot smoother to me.

On bass it does. Not sure about guitar. With basses, maple gives a brighter tone when slapping.

Same 'ere.

And I like the more twangy sound over rosewood or ebony.

I prefer Maple fretboards on Teles, Strats, or anything resembling a strat, and on a select other few guitars. It just feels right to me to have Maple fretboards on Fenders and strat style guitars.
