Who are your favorite hardcore/grind/Tech Metal bassists?

Liam Wilson- The Dillinger Escape Plan

Smoogs- The Number Twelve Looks Like You

I really love the bassist from Between The Buried and Me, but i dont know his name.

Put the bassist and what band they are in, i've been looking into checking out some good grind or hardcore bassists.
i would rather staple my own hands to a train, than pray on knees that judge and blame.

The Locust Bassist, he screams and plays grind bass at the same time. No easy feat.

the locust is sick man, but they're lyrics are totally wack, its like he looks up the bioggest words he can find and writes them down.

arrg i hate those kinds of lyrics.

i see em all the time in UG's songwriting forum lol.

i rarely venture there.. but when i do , thats usually what i find, that or:

A) repetitive, done 40 times before lyrics

B) really bad, dont care if its "original" lyrics, you ryhmed do and poo...

C) writing with a bad topic. just IMO anyway. i dont feel like hearin a song about Pro Life

I enjoy most of the S&L forum, but its different than the locust. The locust is plain silly, but they're really awesome musicians, so it makes up for it.

Fear Before The March of Flames' bassist..his tone is crazy on Odd How People Shake. And I love the intro to "Consequences David You'll Meet Your Fate In The Styx" off of Art Damage. And they aren't really hardcore but From Autumn To Ashes' bassist is pretty good I think, he goes off and does his own thing a lot. And I love Glassjaw's bassist but again, they aren't technically hardcore. Dillinger Escape Plan's bassist is pretty sick too.

-Peavey T-40 (1982)
-Hartke HA-3500
-Aguilar GS 2x12

I know they are brutal in there...I hold back a lot from posting so I don't get my head bit off. Anyway I would recommend Odd How People shake more for bass but that one specific song from Art Damage I like a lot.

He's nothing special but the bassist from Nora has the most amazing bass tone EVER. Listen to any song from Dreamers and Deadmen and you'll know.

Big Kuntree from Horizontal Orange. He's a good freind of mine, and a great bass player. Check out www.myspace.com/horizontalmusic His work on What Was Said in November is great.

I'm not sure of the name, but whoever plays bass with Fordirelifesake is pretty damn good.

Jean Baudin from Nuclear Rabbit is of course excellent.

I also really dig whoever plays bass for Refused.

just because someone outside of the metal forum knows who necrophagist is, they count.

have you heard fermented offal discharge? its pure insanity. god necrophagist is so cool, they are a bit silly though. I had the chance to see them, but it was during finals, and the show was 15 dollars, which is just crazy. glad to see someone else likes necrophagist, they might be one of the most talented death metal bands ever.

Actually, they only have 3. They used to just have two, but since Jordan joined the band again (he used to be their bassist) they stuck him on guitar for some sick melodies. I don't think they have recodings up with all three guitarists yet, but they might. They went into the studio a few weeks ago. Theres a story in there about me getting stuck at Kuntrees apartment, about an hours drive from my house, and he had my car keys....but I won't bore you guys with how I almost got into a fight with a locksmith.

And speaking of Necrophagist, give Only Ash Remains a listen. You'll make poopy in your pants when you hear that intro.
