This guy was trying to sell this to me for $300 today at a local store, because i was looking at some new boss pedals. Is it worth it or will it suck the tone outta my amp? Also I was wondering if anyone had any tips on pinch harmonics. Im just having alot of problems with it. Thanks in advance.

if you have such a nice amp, you dont want to put that in front of it. Yea its nice and stuff, but you amp is killer and that multieffects pedal will murder your amp. Get 3 nice pedals.
#3
a good OD, chorus, and delay?

yea a good OD, chorus if you want a nice clean, and a good delay should be great. If you want recommendations you can ask me, but im not as knowledgable in effects as amps, guitars, and multieffects. make a new thread asking for the best OD, Chorus, and Delay.

i was looking at the Boss DD-6, Boss Super Chorus, and the Boss OD pedal

The Boss DD-6 is a great choice, the Boss Super Chorus isnt the best though, and the Boss OD isnt the best.

Delay: Boss DD-6
Wah: Vox Clyde McCoy Wah (Classic Rock), Morley Wah (Metal/Hard Rock)
OD: Ibanez Tube Screamer (Expensive but the best)
Chorus: Electro Harmonix Small Clone

Other people will give you good advice too but as for my info and recommendations, they are pretty much all good pedals that I recommended.

Yea you dont need a chorus but you do need a wha!

Instead of a TS get a Maxon OD though (TS with true bypass)

Yo wassup, I'm trying to expand my musical horizons if you know what I mean, so can anybody reccomend me some cool Juggalo jazz?

ill ill look into the Clyde McCoy. i heard something about that not being to hard to make from a different pedal with just a little bit of money and a Sauldering Iron. How much do the Tubescreamers cost?

EDIT: Im seeing about $150+ for the Maxon OD-9 (ebay). That was the one you were talkin about right?

A tube screamer will be an impossible first build. I dont recommend it. It wont work if you build it anyway because you wont have experience or knowledge. Im building a Marshall BluesBreaker right know. This would be a hard first build too and its half as hard as the tubescreamer.

i wasnt talking about building the Tubescreamer. I was talking about modding a Vox 584Q (i think..dont pwn me) to make a Clyde

im not pwning you. you a cool guy and your not a noob or anything if you have a JCM900. You mean Dunlop Crybaby 584Q? Just buy the Vox. its really nice.

yea that was it. ive been playing for the past year pretty steady, and just recently upgraded from my Crate GT120H half stack to my marshall and i heard distortion pedals kill the tone of a tube amp so, just looking to reconfigure after i pick this LP up for my birthday. So the Vox would be the best way to go. What is the advantages of the Vox ofver the 584Q?

Well an OD pedal will sound great with the amp. A distortion pedal wont. The Vox and the 584Q both have vocal fassal instructors which make the wah more vocal. The Vox is my personal favorite though. Its just really good sounding. It may be hard for you to use a wah at first, because its a whole new kind of thing, but you will get the hang of it pretty fast and you will have so much fun using it.

well ok...here it is...i found this pedal http://cgi.ebay.com/Dunlop-535Q-Crybaby-Wah-Wah-Pedal-NEVER-USED_W0QQitemZ150000521570QQihZ005QQcategoryZ41422QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

would it hold up to the Vox if i just put in an A/C jack and mod for true bypass?

I think this can work for you. I mean its a Dunlop Crybaby so its known to be good but I just prefer Vox wahs. But this pedal will be great for you. You dont need to put a true bypass or A/C jack in. I would think that it does have those anyway.

Are you in the US because I just want to make sure you see the shipping prices.

EDIT: also look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vox-V848-Clyde-McCoy-Wah-Wah-NEVER-USED_W0QQitemZ7424366724QQihZ016QQcategoryZ41422QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Its by the same guy thats selling the Crybaby.

yea i am in the US. Sorry about the late post ive been sleeping the past 2 days. Ive heard alot about the regular Crybaby's, and I was at a Battle of The Bands and my friends Crybaby kept shorting out in the middle of his solos. Would the 584Q be anybetter?

That's just simply not true. Yes, an overdrive pedal will sound great with a tube amp since it has tubes to push into clipping, but you CAN use a distortion pedal with a tube amp. I use a ProCo Rat with a Mesa/Boogie and the sound is brutal.

thanx for all the help. Now I'm deciding between the Dunlop 535Q Crybaby and the Clyde McCoy.

I know it wont sound bad, but if you use the amp's overdrive with distortion, at some gain levels it will sound bad. With overdrive pedals though, you can use the amps overdrive and then the pedal overdrive pushed the amp's harder and makes it sound better.

yes, with an OD you should use it with the amps OD channel and boost it, and with a dist pedals it is usually a lot better if you use it on the amps clean channel, so if you like your amps OD it is better to use an OD pedal to boost it a little

just simply go and try the two wahs you have it down to out because they are both good, just the crybaby has like 5 different wah modes and it is a little more modern voiced in my opinion nd the clyde mccoy has true bypass and a little more vintage or classic sounding IMO
