i have played 2 years i love megadeth but i cant playh any solos as of yet.

try sweating bullets i can do it just not at full speed

When you first learn any solo that you can't play at full speed, I find it helpful to play the notes in sequence several times, regardless of the rhythm or speed at which you play the notes. This helps your fingers with muscle memory, so you can add in proper timing and rhythm once you have the note sequences down.

Don't have any recommendations for starters...

Try learning it very slowly with Powertab/Guitar Pro, break it up into small phrases, learn each phrase individually until you can play it at full speed, then move onto the next. When you learn two at full speed, connect them. Repeat until end of solo. Also, know the song really well so you go into the learning process knowing the sound that you want.

dude im the opposite, mainly.

i cant get it to 100%, i can only play to about 70

i'm going off the point sorry.... that guy who said "A Tout De La Monde" haha! legend

Sweating Bullets is piss easy fingering just look at it if your fine with speed you should be able to do that one. maybe write some of your own or learn similar bands that are easier to help you prepare?

how can you be in a band that plays alot of megadeth if you dont know ONE whole song yet?

Once you build up speed and accuracy, Megadeth solo's aren't really that hard at all. It's mostly just minor scales and the phrasing isn't that complicated.

the thing is with megadeth, is that, when they recroded rust in peace, it sounds as if marty freedman and dave mustaine are just trying to outshred each other all the time, which unfortunatly makes the solo's the right time to show off.
lets face it, marty freedman is a rediculasly good guitarist. you look at the people who play guitar nowadays, like chris amott of arch enemy, and herman li of dragonforce, they sick ass guitarists but they all credit megadeth as inspiration.
what im trying to get at is that you shouldnt be disapointed in not being able to play megadeth solo's yet. ive been playing 4 years, and i can just about play the first marty freedan solo in hanger 18.
my advise is to get guitar pro (just bittorent it) and learn the dave mustaine solo's first, then practice sweep picking and progress up to the marty freedman stuff!!!

I have been playing for three years just about and i can play the solos to the following: Symphony of Destruction, Hangar 18, Holy wars, tornado of souls and ashes in your mouth. I would recommend that u learn to sweep pick cuz Marty uses it a LOT. Also play the insane runs (if u no what i mean) from slow tempos gradually speeding up to the actual tempo to build up ur speed and muscle memory. If u want to learn more of Dave's solos then just nail alternate picking and practice reach cuz his fingers are long as hell.

I find that the solo to Tornado of Souls isn't as hard as I thought it would be. It's still hard and I can only play the whole thing at a slow speed, but it has helped me build up finger strength, speed, etc. and sounds good.

Maybe try the solo to Symphony of Destruction.

dont just jump into megadeth solos, start off with other stuff that lead to it, even if its just playing faster and faster up the major scale. Learn sweep picking becuase songs like hanger18 have lots of sweeps and stuff

Not all are hard, ive been playing for a bit over a year and i can pretty much play tornado of souls (not perfectly though, sweeping parts give me some trouble), a tout le monde is really easy, dread and the fugitive mind is easy (and awesome), foreclosure of a dream isnt too hard, the last solo (daves) in holy wars is ok, disconnect is pretty easy, youthanasia as well.

since thats not very neat ill list them

- Tornado of Souls
- A Tout Le Monde
- Dread and the Fugitive Mind
- Foreclosure of a Dream
- Holy Wars (last solo)
- Disconnect
- Youthanasia

If you have speed but no accuracy then you're probably just playing sloppy lines and bumbling through licks.

First thing you have to do is learn to play accurately, which means practising with a metrenome and slowing down.....like it's been said a million times, speed is a product of accuracy.

As for Megadeth solos, you'd be better off learning Metallica and Maiden solos first as they're easier than Megadeth solos most of the time.

Then when you do go to try Megadeth solos, try A Tout Le Monde, Train Of Consequences, Skin O My Teeth and things off the albums after Rust In Peace as they aren't as insane as Rust In Peace.

about a tout le monde. Its a song about suicide. If you didnt know.

I learnt the solo in high speed dirty, its fast but basiclly just minor pentanic/natural minor so learn it solo and speed it up. Sounds ace fast.

Speed is a byproduct of accuracy. If you have speed without accuracy, you're bassically just moving your fingers randomly without playing anything.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.

6 I can hit the notes, but its sorta sloppy, and does anyone know where I can find a tab with the full solo of "A Tout Le Monde"? and I can sweep pick!!

Youthanasia is pretty easy, you could also try some of the fills from peace sells.

This thread is nearly a decade old. I'd hope the OP has moved past the easy solos stage by now.

Marty Friedman is known for his creative use of scales...by not following them. He plays what he "thought" sounds cool to him. This makes for some wild and wacky ideas that seem odd to play at first.

One of my favorites is the creepy effect he got on "Lucretia." Just amazing.
