Ok, I haven't seen this anywhere else so I thought id make a thread. Anyone have recommendations for good soul music?

I know pretty much nothing about this genre besides songs Ive heard but don't know the names for, and the Jackie Brown soundtrack which has some pretty sweet stuff by Bobby Womack and the Delphonics on it, plus others.

Any suggestions?
Johnny Gill, James Brown, Donny Hathaway, Bobby Caldwell, Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder are some.

There's a similar thread in the Blues & Jazz forum from about a week ago, it should be on the 1st or 2nd page. Check there for more recommendations.

That man is amazing.

Why the hell has no-one mentioned Aretha Franklin? Her and Otis = legends.
