^I'm damn sure that for that price he'll be looking for a valve amp, and also a good amp...Oooo burn.

Look for some ENGL's about the shops, and some Mesa's too.

fender metalhead is great, exactly ur price range 2

You must be joking right? A solid state half stack theres gotta be something wrong with your head when your getting a solid state half stack. Peavey XXX, or 6505 Plus, would be good.

how about the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers? I will probably get that if everyone agrees because I just heard Ibanez4life's soundclips and fell in love. I have a cab, but it's a peavey, and crap. I might look into the Mesa cab or maybe avatar?

Don't get an amp just on what people say, go to a shop, try a hell of a lot out, that's a lot of money to spend, so you better go and try a load of amps out first hand so you can decide what you like best.

I hopefully will be doing that but it's easy for some to say. I have never seen a Mesa. I live in a dead end town with two music stores and the highest range of amp around here is the Peavey JXS.

bah. Acutally the metalheads arent to bad, just a bit loud. But I agree, a good valve combo ... mesa dual rect. I also heard the the Mark IV has better cleans than the rec, but never played a mark before

These are prettey Decent cabs, and are only £119 each

Or a marshall cab? I cant think of any other decent ones, remember changing cabs will affect the tone aswell.
