Týr is a great band. Eric the Red is an awesome album, but I don't really listen to them anymore. Is How Far to Asgaard alright?

I actualy thought that HFtA was kind of boring. Not a bad album by any means, just it didn't quite apeal to me in the same way as Eric the Red.

Hmm, I'll agree it wasn't quite as good as Eric The Red, but I didn't find it boring. Tyr are a top band.

Hit this once or twice, and you'll be twice as nice.

saw them open for Wintersun and Amon Amarth. They were kinda lost against two great bands like that, but they did a finde job. Regin Smidur made a great opener, I also like their cover of Wild Rover.

Brothers Bane is one of the best songs off the New album, I reckon.

I've been listening to Ragnarok recently and noticed abit of an 80's influence (the solo's various screams). Anyone else noticed this?

Ragnarok is good, HFTA was ok.

Definetly Ragnarok, the lyrics are greatly worked with viking legend. TBF, HFTA is a good album but suffers from Some sketchy vocal work I think.

I just started listening to Tyr, they're great. I'm going through the Eric the Red album and loving it. What language are they singing in when it's not English?

Faeroese.
The language spoken on the Faero Islands.

But yea, Eric the red is a great album. I'm not sure wether it's a concept or not tbh.

We'll you guys can help us brain storm. I'm thinking of involving the words "epic" or "barbaric." Alliteration would be nice, but not necessary. I like "barbaric sodomy." It can't be anything too vulgar, or the show would be called "the epic pillaging of unholy sphincters."

...so, help a brother out. By the way, it's on 91.7 KVRX Austin, TX on sunday night/monday morning midnight to 2 am.

We play these guys on our radio show all the time.

I wish our local radio stations play cool stuff like that. I never hear variance, it's always the same old Sabbath and Led Zep songs.
