Ok guys, my friend needs some help. He's looking for a solid-state amp (I've tried to convince him to go tube, he loves em but he'd prefer a solid-state) that can do metal to the max, with a good clean channel (if that's possible with SS). Effects are not a must/need.

Budget is $700; will go with Used or new, would prefer new.

Thanks in advance!

The best SS amp for most styles is the Line 6 Flextone (based on rumors)

Roland Cube 60 has a nice clean channel, and then another channel with clean amp models with very nice metal amp models. One of the nicer SS amps.

Will it be big enough for high-school sized gigs? As in shows in an auditorium and small clubs?
