I just noticed that many small raised bumps have developed in my guitar's finish around the back of the neck between the first four frets, and around the curve where I might rest my strumming hand. Could this be a result of sweat or humidity problems?

I keep the guitar in a soft case in a pretty cool area but it's been hot around here lately. If anyone knows what causes these bumps and how I can get rid of them, help would be greatly appreciated. Playing is not smooth anymore since those bumps get in the way.
Yeah, but it's the finish itself that is forming the bumps. Argh.
