is pushing down on a floyd easier than a regular tremolo. what i mean is is there more resistance from a floyd rose than a regular tremolo system or less? thanks
It depends on the springs you have and how many
but is it generally harder?
From videos I've seen of Steve Vai and others using a Floyd Rose, it looks a lot easier than my traditional floating Strat tremolo.
yes generally it is far easier to push down on a floyd rose.
i hav a jackson king v with a floating tremolo and double locking nut, and let me tell u it is hard as a bitch 2 push that thing down
What makes the FR so much better?
you can dive bomb like whole octaves...then spring back up and still be in tune...
well generally it wouldnt be easier as its the same principle applied where its spring tension vs. string tension = your bridge balance and since most standard trems sit on the body you can set it up to be alot harder without the trem sinking into the body (this is what i do to get back to zero point easier) and since you have more spring tension its going to be not harder but stiffer (isnt that the same).
