Hey I'm looking for a song to learn that is challenging and helps build my technique. No metal though.

Well that is a really vague question, you could try some van halen, or Steve Via (eugene's trick bag)

What techniques specifically do you want to work on?
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour

Ok then definately try that Vai song, or maybe some Clapton or Heart. I don't really know what you'd be in to.
