So, here's the thread to discuss Dark Tranquillity! I currently only have 2 of their albums, Haven and Damage Done. I like them both. My 2 favorite songs off of Haven are probably The Wonders at Your Feet and Fabric. I like Damage Done as well, but it's burned and I currently don't have the list of songs. I went to go see Opeth back in Feb. and DT were suppose to open up for them, but they had missed their flight and I didn't get to see them.

Now discuss.

Dark Tranquillity = awesome

I have Haven, Damage Done and Character and their all equally brilliant.

Their way of building atmosphere in their songs is probably what i like the most about them

What sub-genre are they?
I will check them out.

Hmm, I'm listening to Haven again for the first time in awhile, and I'm liking it more than I did before. I'll listen to Damage Done after this. I've listened to the samples of Character at FYE, and it seemed like a great album. Which album do you guys recommened I get next?

I have Damage Done, Haven, Character, and Projector. All are great albums. Character is one of the best melo-death alums I've ever heard.

Does anyone else like the direction they went in with Projector? It doesn't sound like anything they've done before, but I wouldn't mind it if they did something like that again.

I'm excited for the new stuff too. Judging from the way they've described the album, it looks like we may get a mix of Projector and Character (which I would love).

Damage Done is def my favorite.

I also love how this dude can sound like an effing opera singer. Great band imo

Oh a DT thread!

Well, I`ve been listening to DT for about a year now and at the moment
I think they arethe best metal band in the whole world. Really. I have
Character, Haven, Damage Done, The Gallery, Projector and The Mind's I
(do they even have anymore albums?)

I have been dying to see them live, but I haven't had the chanse since they
are obsessed not to come to Finland. Darn, I'm moving to Sweden soon...

- Waiting for the next album, let's hope it'll come soon.

I saw dark tranquility along with devildriver and opeth in new orleans... I think dark tranquility was the worst of the three that was playing that night

Try "The Gallery" and "Character", because they will own you.

Well Anders Freiden was the lead singer on the first DT album. They come from the same crowd so they will sound similar.

DT are legends of the melodic death genre, and if you think Devildriver are better than them you have to be mentally ill.

Skydancer is the only full-length you're missing. They have a lot of EPs, though.
