OKay so this is to go on my strat customisation - its a maple neck wiht a hot as hell birdseye maple fretboard - im going to paint the headstock to match the body when i decide on a paintjob - fit a graphtech nut and string saddles, locking tuners and polish up the frets using polsihing compound and a dremel.

SO - How would i go about polishing up the neck ? it has a satin finish on the back of the neck that fades out to just smoth sanding at the nut sort of position if you get that

I'm sure a company like Murphy's makes a wood polish. Check out the cleaning aisle in your supermarket.

Read the label of the polish, if there is any silicon in there stay away from it.

It sounds like you need to buff your neck from the sounds of it.
