Anyone here know how to reduce hissing while using Cubase SX? I'm recording a mic through a pre-amp and POD-XT which are connected to the mic port of my soundcard (I tried using the line-in but the noise was worse). I understand the noise could well be caused by my soundcard, but I would like to know if there are any tips for using the tools in Cubase to reduce hissing. I have had reasonable success so far using the dynamics plug-in, but getting rid of the hissing involves lots of compression and results in a somewhat muddled sound.

Any help is most appreciated!
