Can I save money by using lightbulbs instead of tubes - will energy saving lightulbs last even longer?

I said brands not bands...you can't find a 'Not too big, medium sized' amp for $100. Jeez, get with the program people. If you want to drop dough on an amp expect to pay anywhere from $300 AT LEAST.

I admire you, SiLvEr_StRiNgZ. I have a short, VERY short fuse and would have instantly killed nearly everyone in the room, but you, on the other hand, did good. Have a cookie and a gold star.

This thread is so clueless it's almost spam...I'm tempted to close it.

How many watts? How many speakers? Combo? Head?

You can't really find anything good for 50-100 bucks either bud.

check out ebay, that is your only chance...still, you'll have to be willing to pay more if you want a good amp, you can find decent amps cheap on ebay, but if you find a "good" high-end amp that's within your price range it is either going to be a beat, trashed, barely-working if at all piece of crap...or a scam...one or the other. if you're willing to go for an amp head I know that there are some peavey vtm 60's on ebay currently, prices ranging from $100-250, they were supposedly peaveys version of marshall's JCM's...I've never played one, but I've heard good things about 'em...those are FYI 60 watt tube heads and might be more than you want...good luck
