hi all,

i was just wondering why Gibsons have plastic machine heads? i once bought a crappy £40 guitar and that still had metal heads, plastic doesnt last as long and metal looks better anyway.

it was the style back in the 50's and so they keep em on for nostalga, plus some people (like me) think they look cool.

I'm fine with the fact that they are plastic. They work like they should and the shape is ok, but they could have picked a better color than that filthy green.

actually they used to be more white with a bit of yellow (early plastics had a yellow tint) but as they aged the plastic turned green, so now they make em in that green to make em look "Vintage".
