I know these threads are very common, but i need some help. I was thinking on something from the jackson JS series, but I've heard bad things about them.

Price Range-$0 - $300

Body shape- not strat (superstrat is okay)

Body wood- Alder

Neck- not too thick

Frets- 24 hopefully

Music- Everything, mostly metal. I already have a strat, so something with humbuckers.

a schecter omen 6 is great for what you like.
im not sure if its alder, and im not sure if its 24 frets. but most schecters have 24 anyway.

maybe look at some used jacksons/schecters.

If you change Alder to Mahogany, get an Ibanez RG321MH.

Awesome for the price.

VINDICEDIT:

And yes, the JS series of Jackson suck.

Sadly to say

A strat copy, on par with a squier, and a cheap 15w amp that came with it. I am going to get a new amp with the guitar, maybe before the guitar if i can not choose. the amp i am getting is a roland cube 30, buying it off my brother for $150.

get that cube and the rg 321MH(mahogany) or rg2ex1or2*(basswood)

Ok, so you are set for a good amp, but as for a guitar, 300 bucks wont get you a very big step up. I would say try to save 550-700 bucks.

Its probably going to be another year before i can save up that much, i could do up to $350 maybe.

Edit: this guitar any good? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Jackson-DXMGTSP-HT-DINKY-Electric-Guitar-with-EMGs?sku=512245

Meh, I've heard that schecter necks are chunky.

rg321 wins seeing as it has the thinnest neck in the price range and every one lovers them including me
