I started this song last night... and tonight I think I really did something cool with it... To me, this is like Tool mixed with Metal, but with only one riff in a different time signature. The idea initially was to make this a long epic song... but while I was making it I thought it would be a cool idea to have vocals going during the slow solo section at the end as a build up. However, I don't have a vocalist yet, so they have to wait :P Drums are done by the comp, Guitar recorded with a Pod XT Live, Bass lined into the comp.

All feedback welcome.

Song is "Epic Song Idea?" near the bottom - http://juzcook.dmusic.com/

Thanks in advance

Intro Riffs: Great clean tone, awesome harmonizing (sup Metallica?), a tad too long though for my likings. You really have control over your instrument - I can hear that from the in-key bends the well-executed pinch harmonics and the use of the whammy bar.

Main "Metal" Riff: The tone is a bit generic, as is the playing. Very cleanly executet though. A tad repetitive.

Solo: Lead tone = main riff rhythm tone? A bit generic. Technically pretty good, mostly in time. I like the slower parts, the faster parts seem a bit rushed.

Overall, I'd say you did a pretty awesome job, good mixing, very nice intro. Congrats!

Rofl , It reminds me of a western film , definately this is not an epic song mate , it is obviously a western exept the part when the distorted guitar comes in and blows you away dude. In the beggining i was really like : WTF is that , but when the distorted guitar came in i got goosebumps man , really awesome , Personally i really liked it . The tone was amazing .
To sum up , your songs kicks ass except for the intro .. keep up mf..

Would like to take a look at my song ? i would really appreciated it if you did. thank you ! https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=385258
I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.

Wow, this was awesome.

I loved the whole thing, beginning to end.

The way you transition from clean to distorted is freaking awesome.

Solo and everything is awesome man, really really great job.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. So some moron put evidence of me exposing her stupidity in her signature, why should I care?

Thanks man, starting this year I actually started "practicing" and I think it seems to finally be paying off now. The lead tone is actually a different tone to the heavy rhythm tone I'll admit the tapping part was awkward to get down since I don't do alot of tapping, but using both hands to get it down while muting the others just took a bit of practice.
