Ok, the title says it all. What (in your opinion) are the worst solos ever? I'd have to go with Johny Cash's "I Walk The Line." I know he didn't play it, but it sounds so bad.
Ohhh...My head hurts...

There is a solo on System of a Down's first album that is absolutely terrible. I can't remember what the song is called, but I'll never forget the terrible phrasing and tone.

Once I saw someone try to seriously give someone "the vulcan death grip". That was the dumbest thing I'd ever seen until I saw this thread.

Stairway to Heaven d00d.

Seriously, though, I hate the solos from this new emo stuff.

Actually, the American idiot solo is pretty much the most complex thing billy hoe ever wrote. The least complex being Wake me up when September ends.

You know what I just realized? The McDonald's jingle is simply the first line of a major scale, and the first two notes of the second line played backwards, and then the first line backwards. . .

and mcD's probably payed millions for it. . .

I think you mean "Every Single Solo Kerry King Ever Made - Slayer".

As for me, I think the worst solo ever is "Here I Go Again On My Own - Whitesnake". It just doesn't fit at all. Annoys me everytime I hear it.

Antoher particulary bad solo is the one in R.E.M's What's The Frequency Kenneth. Good song, awful solo. They've tried to play the solo backwards over the original prgression. It just doesn't sound good.

Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day
It may be a good song, but the solo is unnecessary.

Come on, now, Mr. Young...this solo is inexcusable

Hey, I actually like that solo. I know it's only one note or whatever, but for some reason I actually like it.

I'm going to go with the solo from Smells Lke Teen Spirit. I actually like Nirvana, but that solo is subpar at best.

I think it just sounds grungish. It's not neccesarily bad, just all the bends kinda make it sound sloppy. I kinda like it actually.
