It's a wonderful amp (especially in tweed!) but it definiteley needs a tubescreamer or something for distortion, unless you only play blues and jazz. . .

Bright, excellent cleans, what some would call a "loudmouth" (full rich tone, plays louder than you expect).
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

yeh, i was pretty much surprised by how loud the hot rod deluxe was on 3 at volume,drive and master and arent the deville's like 60 watts or so
