I hate to put this in here but I know there's not really anywhere else for it and if I put it anywhere but here it'll get moved back. Genre uncertainties aside, anyone going/not going/etc?

Line up is, I believe:
Taking Back Sunday
Alexisonfire
Saosin
Anti-Flag
Underoath
Senses Fail

And these last two are listed, but I think only because they're playing in Australia:
Thursday
Parkway Drive

Announced 2-3 weeks ago I think. Opinions? I might go for Alexis, but if Thursday were in the UK as well that'd be the clincher. The rest don't excite me too much and again, I know there's the possibility that I'd be in a room with 7000 walking stereotypes. If the bands were good enough, I'd go anyway though, obviously.
#2
seriously, who genuinely goes to a 'taste of chaos' tour? Sure the line up is OKay but i mean come on.
#3
meh, looks alright but nothing spectacular.

if thursday we confirmed then i'd be there.

but tours like this are always a disappointment. it's just that all the kids go just to look part of the scene, without really knowing the music too well. there's never much of an atmosphere really.

but it beats last years line up hands down.

I rather love the line-up, too bad I live way away.

Jon.

Fly me in and go with me?
#14
I actually think the line up is okay.

Fairplay, i only like 4 or so of the bands

but im looking foward to seeing TBS (again), Thursday (who i missed last time they were over. i had tickets and everything, i just had family troubles and couldnt make it), Alexison-****ing-fire <33333, and Saosin. They'll all be brilliant. underOATH should be good too.
#15
thursday aren't playing the UK shows.

everywhere i've looked it's been TBS, Alexis, Saosin etc.

oh aye, i'll be hopping along with some mates to that one. i mean i like the whole lineup apart from senses fail so i find it pretty cheap. the lineups a little...different, but i guess i don't mind. i just don't see why the hell rise against were on last years and anti-flag on this one. confuses the hell out of me.
rites of nothing.
#19
rise against were the best band there last year.

It seems like an interesting enough line up. I adore Alexisonfire, Taking Back Sunday and UnderOath, so it should be nice. Hopefully the crowd won't be losers.

naw, it'll be full of scene knobheads (excluding me)

The Canadian list was...
Dredg
Silverstein
Atreyu
Thrice
Deftones
As I Lay Dying

Pretty damn good if you ask me, but the Deftones were the closers and they BLEW.

EDIT: Hawthorne Heights, Thursday and Story of the Year were also on tour, but not all of the bands play all of the dates.

The thing for me is that if I went, I'd be seeing two bands I've already seen - Alexis & TBS - and apart from that (we're assuming Thursday definitely aren't on the UK leg, as it seems to be just Australia they're doing), I'd MAYBE want to see Anti-Flag and Saosin. I've actually seen Underoath as well and they were pants. So that's that.
#26
yeah i thought underoath were pretty pants too.

the sets at gigs like these are never long enough, it's as if you don't get enough time to get into one band before they're off again.

I'd definitely go for TBS, Alexis, Saosin and Underoath. All superb bands. Thank God it's coming to Dublin - can't wait!!

I'd consider going if Thursday were playing and Saosin were still good.

I may have already posted that, but I can't be bothered to check.

i haven't been to it.

basically cuz the atmosphere is crap at these kinda gigs cuz it's full of fat, hairy sceneo's who only know the popular songs.

Just shows the organisers have a good sense of humour

I very nearly bought tickets for the Cardiff leg, Krypt, I'm kind of regretting turning them down now

I went to the Birmingham gig.

Me and my friend met all of Saosin, got a picture with Cove and signed posters.

We got Cove to do the heart thing back to us when Saosin were playing, and he said "Thank you" to us over the mic

Saosin were awesome
Senses Fail sucked
Underoath sucked
Alexisonfire were amazing
Anti-Flag were the best band of the night (everyone I spoke to said the same)
Taking Back Sunday were good, but it wasn't the same without Fred

I would agree with pretty much all of that actually...

Overall, (just got in) a good show, Anti-Flag were the highlight, Alexis were good but chose some poor songs to fill the set up, and TBS weren't exactly mind-blowing. Of the three early bands, Saosin were better than Underoath and Senses Fail, easily.

Also on the second stage (which for us was the main stage, but in between the main bands), Saidmike were fun and Cancer Bats were alright.

It was only 20 quid after all...

And Yakult, you should have gone
