What is everyone's though on Urban Exploration, or..urban spelunking?
I find it a very interesting subject and would like to give it a try myself.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Urban spelunking is the exploration of abandoned buildings, theme parks, mines ect.
Go to www.forgottenoh.com to get a better idea of what I'm referring to.

Does anyone else share my fascination?

Yeah, I've always wanted to just start going through all the buildings around town just to see whats there.

I used to hang out in an abandoned Mental Hospital when I was a teenager. They tore it down in 1989. It was a great place. I love exploring old buildings. Here's a link to the building me and my friends used to hang out in.

It would be cool. But I wouldn't do it in massive town at night, like old theme parks at night.....o_O. That would freak me out. I would do some of the more rural places. Cause most of them are really cool. Most are haunted too.

My sister's b/f has this friend who was building an apartment building over this old burned down factory. And it was freaking haunted. He said his friend would be putting up a wall, and get done and go home, only to come back and find the wall no there.

He eventually quit the job he was so scared. His exact words were, "Fuck this. I quit, find someone else."

Me and my friends actually just went into some abandoned skate park/swimming pool/play area/ workout place the other day. It was really creepy cause all the gear was still there, and there were clothes and coins in the lockers. Almost as if everyone all just had to leave in a hurry once and never came back... *shivers*
Peace.

There aren't any old abandoned buildings where I live. Atleast not any that aren't locked/fenced up.

It's nothing like that, it's more for people with less energy.

Erm since when has parkour been a sport???

its cool anyway.

me and my mates have been to an abandoned hospital a couple of times which was fun.

we had a BB gun battle in there, as well as giving the security guards the run-around.

once my mate (whence i wasnt there unfortunatley) got into the security hut and found a stole a shovel, a saw and a porno tape.

He also has a lot of x-rays, teeth casts and outpatients records.

oh and letterheads from the hospital which he keeps sending to people.

I love run down buildings and factories and what not. Not even going inside them, but just seeing them.

I know it is bad to bring threads back from 4 months ago, but I was planning on making a new one, so I may as well use this one...

I think it would be great fun. The problem is, there is nowhere really around where I live to go exploring. There is some bushland and stuff, but no real buildings. I guess finding them is half the fun.

And by the way, Parkour is awesome.
