Can someone tell me about these heads? I hear they're great for playing metal. Pros and cons of each? Price isn't an issue right now but I'd just like some information about them. Thanks.

Pros- These heads have enough gain for just about anything.

Cons- Not the greatest cleans.

I swear by them for metal though. What bands do you like?
Also, there is a thread all about them a few pages back.

The 5150 will be perfect for you. Its what Archenemy (carcass as well) used before the switch to krank. (Im willing to bet they still use them in the studio though since sneap is partial to 5150s.

^ If you're asking if it has enough gain to handle those tones? If so then yes, with ease.

So I could plug it straight in? No pedals?

What cab would you recommend?

You won't need any outside dist, maybe an OD for solos but thats it, I would get a 5150 cab, Mesa cab, Genz Benz G-Flex, Bogner Uberkab or on the cheap an Avatar cab, I've heard they are great for the money.

No pedals.

I have only tried 2 cabs with mine. A mesa traditional and the Marshallav. Both are great but I feel that the mesa has a little more thumpIMO.

And no pedals are needed. You only need the gain at 1oclock for a badass metal drive. (some even say thats to far).

I use a keeley modded OD9 for solos and certain songs. But only to add sustain, never to color the distortion.
