Hey, I'm plannin' on getting some pedals soon, and I wanna know what order I should put 'em in.

The pedals are:

EHX Little Big Muff
Digitech WH4 Whammy
Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon
Boss DD3
Boss CS-2

I'm thinking WD7 > LBM > DD3 > WH4 > CS2

Would that be the most desireable?

Here's what I'd do
Guitar
Whammy
Weeping Demon
Big Muff
CS-2
DD3
Amp

In Diagram

Guitar < Whammy < Demon < Big Muff < CS-2 < DD3 < Amp

i'd go for guitar<whammy<cs2<weeping demon<big muff<dd3

the compressor should be closer to the guitar to avoid hum and compress better, i believe

So wait, I'm getting different opinions here... is it better for the compressor to be early on or later on?

And btw, it's bass boys.

EHX Little Big Muff - this one is the kind of turning point of the signal chain

Digitech WH4 Whammy - expirement on this one, i've got no idea where it tracks and sounds best (after the distortion, before the delay I believe? looking on guitargeek.com I see Tom Morello has in the FX loop, but Joe Satriani has his after his Boss DS1, but in front of the amp, Steve Vai has it in the same position Satriani)

Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon - I'd put this one before the distortion, you may prefer it after

Boss DD3 - this one is last

Boss CS-2 - well okay, this one may be really last, but you may prefer it in another place. If you put it in front of the Big Muff it'll even out the dynamics of your playing, not just the overall volume level...though a big muff tends to compress things more than enough so I'm thinking towards the end (but then again, you're probably not going to be using the thing all the time). Also somewhere where it won't pickup too much noise if thats a problem. [edit: for bass I think I'd put this after the wah, before the distortion]

I think I'd end up with
WD7 > LBM > WH4 > DD3 > CS2

Awesome, thanks Seljer.

Well, honestly, the compession (Which seems to be the biggest problem) is the least likely thing to be put in my chain. I'm getting the Big Muff for sure, a WD-7 for sure (from ebay), and Whammy for sure (on ebay) and a DD3 if I can get one hella cheap (under 60) on ebay. The compressor is only if I have cash laying around and find one cheap on ebay.

So Delay goes at/near the end always, good to know. And fwiw, I prefer to have my Wah then my Distortion... not a fan of the duck sounds.

Where do you live? I'm selling a CS-3 for $40-50, depending on what I can get.

Look!!! You put any EQ controlls first. that means compression pedals and noise gates. Then wammy/Wah etc. and distortion goes last. Put the compresser closer to the beginning.

I don't like the CS-3. Sorry.
