"Just Go"

Everyone cries, sooner or later it's true
I won't close my eyes, the pain hurts too much when I do
I just can't erase the image of you from my mind
I'll never replace,and I don't think I could if I tried
If I tried

So I sit here and stare at the wall
Writing another sad song
Trying to find the right words to say
Sitting alone in the dark
Watching my world fall apart
Wishing you'd ask me to stay
And wishing you'd just go away

I've made mistakes,something we've all done before
But I'm still afraid that I'm not what you've been looking for
Been looking for

So I sit here and stare at the wall
Writing another sad song
Trying to find the right words to say
Sitting alone in the dark
Watching my world fall apart
Wishing you'd ask me to stay
And wishing you'd just go away

Usually when I write I try to put a little thought behind what I'm saying so it doesn't sound like I'm just using whatever comes to mind at the time. This was a song I wrote in a stream-of-conciousness kind of way. It is literally what I was going through one night as I was really hurting over a relationship and kept writing all these sappy-ass love songs. Hence the chorus "writing another sad song, trying to find the right words to say". So I instead focused on my inability to say effectively in one song what I needed to get out of my system. So yes,I know it's cheesy. But my band absolutely loves it and it gets the biggest response when we play it live. Now I know how Aerosmith feels when someone asks them to play "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing". Go figure.
