Well since the settings thread is ignored now and noone will answer this one since its gets pushed back so far I was wondering what a good Eric Johnson setting would be on a Vox AD50VT amp (please specify compared to a clock ie. 2= 2 o'clock NOT 2/10) Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Eric johnson has a relatively warm sound, which is very submerged in reverb (at least on the one song I heard ).
I'd set the amp to black face fender.

ALL SETTINGS OUT OF 10:
Gain - 2 or 3
Treble - 6
Middle - 7
Bass - 4
Heavy reverb (no numbers here)

I'm not too sure, but try that.

Set it to Boutique OD, with gain at 7/10, volume at 6/10, treble at 8/10, mids at 10/10, bass at 4/10.

For effects, you can either go for a little bit of reverb or delay.

Boutique OD is the model that models a Dumble amp, which is what Eric Johnson (and also Santana, SRV, and Neil Zaza) uses.

ok do this.. I have the 30 watt model.. put the amp model to 70s UK which is really a marshall plexi which he uses... then put the gain at about 3 o clock for the overdrive and the mids at about 1 o clockand eq the bass and the treble to the room your in.. and use a delay / reverb pedal if you have one.

I have a E-H Deluxe Memory Man delay pedal, know any good settings on that for the Johnson tone then and just bypass my reverb on my amp or just use the amps verison (by the way I'm looking for the "Cliffs of Dover" tone mostly)

I kind of combined everyones and finally found a tone that I really really like

(I use the wattage knob on the back of the amp to adjust the volume this way I can keep the preamp volume and master all the way up to get full saturation and tone)

AMP MODEL: Black2x12
GAIN: 11.5 (o'clock)
VOLUME: ALL THE WAY UP
TREBLE: 2.5 (o'clock)
MIDDLE: 3 (o'clock)
BASS: 10 (o'clock)
REVERB: 4 (o'clock)
MASTER: ALL THE WAY UP

IBANEZ TUBESCREAMER TS9DX (optional)
DRIVE: 10 o'clock
MODE: TS9
LEVEL: 12 o'clock
TONE: 8 o'clock

you know that on the vox valvetronix the black model is actually a fender deluxe reverb which mr.johnson uses right? good guess.

I guess I just used the one that I thought sounded best from the few you guys posted and I thought the black sounded the best or most like it, My preset Channel 1 is my EJ strat tones and my Channel 2 is for my crunchy distortion stuff for my Les Paul

and do you know why you like this tone??? its because it drives the 12ax7 tube harder with your master volume control and the tube screamer drives it even harder to give you a more tube like distortion.

really? Are there tubes in my preamp or why is it so close to the tube like sound

yes the valvetronix has a tube preamp
