I'm writing a song right now that uses these notes in the main riff - B/E/A/G/F#, what key(s) would this be in and what would be a good scale to use to make a solo from it and what chords would be good to use? Like bar chords, power chords, any kind....Thanks a bunch guys.
I love music. That is all...

depends but i'd say if the notes are in that order it sounds like a B minor scale, B minor chord progression would be i believe

B min, E min, A major, G major, F# minor

could you post the order of the chords or at least confirm this so myself or someone else can check on this?

scale of b its usually the firt chord in the progression i dont know many scales so cant help u there

i would like to add, that i've heard this statement from SOOOOO many people its really upsetting, the first chord of a song does NOT determine its key, the chord upon which the piece resolves to GENERALLY determines its key.
