ok so here's my predicument. I was just about to get an LP from a local music store and it was in really good condition, but they sold it today right before i was about to put a down payment. so GRRR i got ****ed outta a LP. They have another one there and its like $100 usd more. Its a sunburst and not in as good of condition. They also have a mexi Fender Strat, or a mexi tele.

So here i am, i have a squire strat with humbuckers in it, and i want a different sound. I really wanted the LP bc i liked the way it felt and played. I wont be using it for metal or anything. Some punk and blues. help me!

Epi G400. SG style, very versatile guitar. Lots of punk bands use humbuckers. If you want to hear killer blues check out Derek Trucks and his SG (no pick either!), incredible.
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.

strats are better for punk and blues, well a fat strat that is. the bridge humbucker for punk and the neck single coil for blues.

well i really was wanting to stay away from the strat body style but i threw it out there. I have a Double Fat squire start HH pup con. Since i have 2 strat body styles i wanted something different. Im tore between the tele and LP. It sux that i only have the money for one.

Try a load of guitars out and see if they sound/play nice to you.

And look for some Mexi Strats, and some Epi LP's or some off brand stuff.
