well i got my noise supressor today (boss ns2, please dont tell me i should have saved and got a decimator, cos it only cost me £30)

and i was wondering about the order of my pedals, whereabouts should the gate go?

at the minute i have:
Guitar>gate>distortion>wah>compressor>amp

should it go just before the amp?
im kinda confused because its not cutting THAT much noise

also could someone explain what 'decay' and threshold mean because i didnt get the manual with it

cheers

I would think your gate should go at the end, or in the effects loop, but it depends on what you are using it for.

i am using it to cut back on noise/feedback,

it has other uses? other than power?

You need to put it after what causes the most noise...
Can you isolate where the noise is coming from?

most probably my boss metal zone, that thing hums like a f.uc.ker, so i just put it after that?

also what does threshold and decay exactly do? i didnt get a booklet

cheers

Threshold sets the sound level at which it blocks.
And decay is the speed at which it stops doing it's thing.
(I'm just assuming this stuff.)

its wierd though, because i have to have it before all this stuff or it doesnt stop much sound

i also have to have the threshold right the way up and decay right the way down

The order that synester told you is fine. The reason its not cleaniing up the sound is it may be from the amp so you need to run the gate through the Effects loop.

But through my knowledge because i have had that pedal im gonna say its because the pedal blows

to be honest i'm not sure my amp has a loop,

i am just confused to why it works better infront of all the effects rather than after

it also makes a wierd whispery sound when it comes after too, anyone know what that is?

ok man if your pedals are causing the problem. Run them through the suppressors loop.

It should have four jacks Input, Out put, Send and Return.

Run all the pedals through the send and reurn jacks that will clean up pedal noise
