Well just this week I got a Traynor YCV50BLUE, and so far I absolutely love. I'd like to either build or buy an overdrive to give this amp a little bit of extra kick. I play a big variety of styles but the main stuff I play is Punk/Rock/Hard Rock so a lot of distortion basically. I can get the distortion needed on the amp, but I just thought an overdrive wouldn't hurt. Can anyone recommend anything, I had been thinking of either a Tube Screamer or a Boss SD-1. Opinions?

maxon OD9
maxon OD808
boss sd-1

my favorite more popular ones.

theres other less heard of stuff like the budda zen man that really pwn but cost just as much as the amp almost.

^ bah. the reissues are nothing compared to the vintage ones that maxon made, and still does. maxon stopped making them for ibanez in the 90's and started selling them on their own.

It can get pretty heavy. It's not gonna cut metal on it's own unlessy ou really crank it, and really set the EQ right.
