As much as I like to experiment with different tunings, I (and the other guitarists in my band) only have one guitar each, and so it's not really practical to be using multiple tunings for our songs. We originally started off playing a nu-metal style in drop C, but we are dramatically changing our style to a more thrash orientated one, and I have begun to dislike the lower tunings, I find they sound too muddy. On the other hand though, I need a relatively low tuning, as I am also the singer (out of necessity) and I have quite a low vocal register. We need to come to a decision, im thinking Eb, or maybe drop D but i'm not sure. Advice?

play in Eb drop d is still muddy if u tune the whole guitar down a step.

Sorry, I didn't make that clear. By drop D I meant Standard tuning with just the E dropped down, as opposed to DGCFAD.
