Ive always heard that the LP Standard is way too expensive, but have you seen the tag on the top JEM? Its like 700 more quid for a few finishes and hardware.

Nice work Fender, seriously.

Well different places will have different prices, so some may be biased towards other brands.

PRS customs do offer slightly less than a Gibson LP for roughly the same price, but PRS's are made in lower numbers with signicantly better QC control.

LP Custom Supremes or whatever do surely not justify they're price. But remeber many people are generally biased purely on the fact that they can't afford something.
Ibanez -> Peavey -> Eardrums

Apparently I'm on some list of people to listen to..?
#9
most decent fenders are still over priced (im anti fender). alot of prs's are also overpriced.
#11
im a teenager so anything over £500 seeems overpriced to me but im not paying £5000 for a prs

I dont think Gibson Les Paul's are that over priced. You can pick up a new one for about £1250 and get a really nice second hand one for about a grand. I agree the list price is silly though.
If anyones ever made one you appreciate how much more work goes into one than a fender or Ibanez guitar too.
#14
signature guitars will ALWAYS be overpriced...

EDIT: unless if you get mine...

My PRS.

Also Alembic guitars. Their lowest price is like $8000, and yet edg has 2 of them.

Alembics are all handmade using top quality wood and revolutionary technology to offer the highest in looks and comfort. And you can get an Alembic (not with a figured Cocobolo top) for sans 1k if you're good at looking.

haha, nah I bet all that inlay (doesn't PRS use abalone(which is f*%ing expensive)?) would cost more than any normal guitar to begin with. :P

Labor. Profit. Capitalism.

These are words that come to mind when I looked at this thread.

The fact of the matter is, you get what you pay for.

Martin Guitars are overpriced.

^Theres a Martin (I think) thats up for £100,000, its got so much inlays and stuff it looks stupid.

Obviously those guitars don't cost £1200 to build but you pay for what you get compaired to other guitars. Even with the JS100 which is about £500.

mine was...

but pretty much any signature guitars. you pay so much extra just for the artists name

just in case any anti-gibson people are planning to, dont come in here and try to argue with me about paying for the name when buying a gibson because of what i just said about names... ive already had that discussion numerous times... thank you Xenn

and that PRS doubleneck is making me excited...

^Well I think so as that guitar is immense, but nothing compared to this Alembic beauty, going for no less than $7800.

This is such a nice guitar, I bet it sounds awesome, if only it wasnt so pissin expensive.

how bout that damn Hendrix flying V?

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Custom-Shop-Jimi-Hendrix-Flying-V-Electric-Guitar?sku=517402

8 G's for a V with a hippie paint job? looks to me like you pay an extra 7 grand for the paint. you can get a V and swap pickups and paint it yourself for under $1500 and itll be the same

it might be special Hendrix paint tho...
