I would go for a Ovation celebrity.
I was lucky enough to get one second hand, and they sound fantastic.

I've got a Greg Bennett D-5-12 twelve string. I adore it. Although it is a bit economical, it's a wonderful guitar and the perfect size. If you get the right strings, it'll be sweet to you for years and years.

Also, it's pretty as hell.

The most beautiful 12 string I have heard is made by Rainsong. I don't know what your price range is though. So I'm just throwing that out there.

any brand that makes nice guitars is going to make a nice 12 string. if you want one that isn't so cumbersome, get a dreadnought or concert body style guitar and not a jumbo.

Look at a Simon and Patrick one. I'm gona buy one in a few months... they sound so awesome.

i dont want a dreadnought either. just a thin bodied one. if anyone has seen the motley crue carnival of sins dvd, the twelve string mick mars play. thin bodied, acoustic-electric guitars like the one on the dvd.

Check out the Alvarez FD60 12 string. Thin-body, cutaway, good electronics.

Gear:
Partscaster/Tele into a bunch of pedals, a Maz 18 head, and a Z Best cab.
